Notice was built to serve as a therapy / journaling companion. It gather information about your day and biometric data and exposes a one-tap action to log a state of mind such as when you notice a negative behaviour pattern that you would like to work on.
To make the most out of the app, you will need to add all the patterns you would like to notice. To do this, simply tap the “+” icon in the “Patterns” tab and enter in the details, such as the name of what you’d like to notice and a descriptive icon and colour to make things more visual!
Notice supports multiple ways of adding a new log so that you can choose the way that works the best for you:
Simply navigate to the second tab and swipe left the log you want to delete. Then press the delete button.
Navigate to the “Logs” tab and tap on the entry you’d like to enrich with a note. Then type in your note.
From the “Logs” tab, click the “Export” button. Then select where you would like to export to. Typically this will be the “Files” app. Navigate to the desired location and hit “Save”. Your logs will be exported as a csv file.
Every point of data that you see displayed under a certain log will be exported. This includes location coordinates, last heart rate, last exercise information, sleep data, calendar information. Everything you need to run your own data analysis and uncover hidden factors and triggers!
Notice tracks location in hopes that it will help you correlate it to observing certain patterns of behaviour. Are you more anxious at work? Or shopping? Location information unlocks this.
You can always tell Notice not to track your location by going into your “Settings” app, tapping on Notice and setting location to “Never”.
Notice tracks various biometric factors such as sleep data, heart rate and exercise data that could shine some light into why you are feeling or observing certain patterns. Do you feel more negative thoughts on days with less REM sleep? Does exercise impact your mood? And many other interesting relationships.
You can always tell Notice not to track your health data, in a very granular fashion by going into your “Settings” app, tapping on Notice and turning off whatever you wish not to be tracked.
Notice will not write any data to your Health data. It only reads from it.
Notice tracks event information in hopes that it will help you correlate it to observing certain patterns of behaviour. Are you more anxious in days that are packed with meetings? Or maybe there’s that monthly review that gets your heart pumping in overdrive? Tracking events in your calendar unlocks all of this.
You can always tell Notice not to track your event data by going into your “Settings” app, tapping on Notice and setting “Calendar” to “None”.
Notice will not write any data to your Calendar. It only reads from it.
The app simply stores the data it reads from various device APIs in your iCloud. It also makes that data available to you through a CSV export. Your data never leaves the security of your encrypted iCloud account. Notice does not send any data to any proprietary or 3rd party servers, the data is yours.
Chances are you did not allow Notice to access that data. You can change that by heading to your “Settings” app, searching for Notice and then allow the app to access the missing bit of information.
